A.B.1028: Reporting of crimes: mandated reporters

Appropriations Committee

Current law requires health care practitioners report to law enforcement if they suspect a patient has suffered domestic violence. There are civil and criminal punishments if they fail to report domestic violence. This bill will remove those reporting requirements and punishments for failing to report, effectively removing current safeguards in law that helps victims of domestic violence get the help and resources they need.
