30 hours of approved courses of continuing pharmacy education are currently required for renewal of a license for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. This will would include at least one hour of participation in a cultural competency course. The course focuses on (1) patients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender nonconforming, or queer, or who question their sexual orientation or gender identity and expression and (2) the health disparities faced by Black, Indigenous, and people of color.

Thoughts for consideration:
Continuing education requirements are a way to inculcate Critical Race Theory into the professions. Lest we think that the push to CRT is abating, this bill adds yet another to the long list of professions already required to have one hour of CRT training to renew a license.
Pharmacists are trained to answer questions based on the individual needs of the patient regarding their medications, gender identity and race notwithstanding.
